Our own Chairman Niall Walsh was recognised at the Louth Local Sports Partnership awards in the Carrickdale Hotel on Monday night - receiving a Club Volunteer of the Year Award on behalf of Termonfeckin Celtic Football Club. This award is the result of the incredible work Niall has put in over the last number of years bringing our club to where it is now.
Niall’s vision and determination is engrained in everything around the club. He takes massive pride in how the club presents itself, its facilities, its teams and members.
He has shown great leadership through some tough times for the club and ultimately brought us together on a journey where we can look on 2026 as being another breakthrough year.
Niall spearheaded the phenomenal growth of the female side of the club. From humble beginnings a few years back to having 3 competitive underage sides, a remarkable breakthrough season with the Senior Ladies and a growing Girls Academy. The future is exciting !
Niall’s modesty means we don’t have a photo of him collecting his award and you can be sure he didn’t make an acceptance speech. Niall isn’t one for the limelight - he is quite content to sit back and let other be the public face of the club but behind the scenes he never stops working for the club and all it’s members.
From the Committee, Coaches, Players, Parents and anyone connected with TCFC - Thank you Niall.
