Our 2012 lads were out in East Meath United for the second round of the SFAI U15 National Cup.   In a real battle TCFC came out on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Adam McMorrow and Sean Quinn with goals either side of half time.  The EMU goal came late on in the game which gave a real nervy end to the fixture.

It was a display of real grit and determination and dogged defending.  The early stages of the game were dominated by EMU who caused plenty of problems out wide;  Johnny Rooney and Sean McCluskey soon got a handle on that and gave a masterclass in full back play.

The work rate in the middle of the pitch from Conor Balfe, Rory Mulholland, Duarte and Chris Malone ensured that EMU could not settle in to any sort of pattern of play.
The lads up top - Sean Quinn and Adam McMorrow were relentless in their running and caused problem after problem for the home defence.

It was a real team effort and the last 20 mins of the game was where the spine of the defence captain Lucas Gorman, Alfie Vize and keeper Harry Doggett dealt with just about everything that came their way.

Luke Mara and Jamie Lennon came off the bench to add much needed energy to see the game out.

As season that has had plenty of ups and downs this was one of those days to remember and the reward will be another run out in this fantastic competition.
Hard luck to East Meath United who would feel they probably should have gotten something out of the game and we look forward to meeting them again next season as they are joining the NERL from the NDSL league.
